PRIMOŠTEN

PRIMOSTEN is unique small fishing village which today lives mostly form tourism but still holds its nice charm. Great diving, pebble beaches, good cuisine and history surrounding you are a base for good vecation

Primosten is placed on a little island nearby the mainland in 1542, in the period of the danger of the Turkish attacks, protected by the city walls and mobile bridge. In the old documents Primošten was named Caput Cista (Bald head), while under the present name appeared for the first time in 1564. As the time passed by the mobile bridge was changed with the dyke, so Primošten became peninsula forming unique natural unit together with the peninsula Raduča.

Primošten is a very well known by famous red wine -Babić- produced from the world famous vineyards of Primošten, whose photo is permanently placed in the main building of the United Nations in New York as the symbol of the human hard work throughout the centuries.

Pine forests, nice pebble beaches, old village protected by stone walls and well-protected location give Primosten unique beauty and attract people to visit it again every year. Also from Primosten you can have half day trips to N.P. Krka and N.P. Kornati, rafting, sailing, paraglyding..In addition to bathing, scuba diving and other water sports, visitors may enjoy cultural and entertainment programs, organized during the tourist season.

PUBS AND RESTAURANTS

Primosten offers all variety of entertainment From quiet sea side restaurants and pubs to more disco environment in Aurora discotheque. But One small place is as it often is simple and unforgettable. Wine cellar in center of Primosten has simple benches in front and offers good red and white wine to tourists. You sit on a small stone square have your glass of wine and talk, meet and enjoy people and the place.

FOOD AND DRINK

We recommend you try shrimps or shells called DAGNJE on BUZARA. Buzara is a kind of special preparation on Dalmatian stile and is really good. Some restaurants offer really good meet and vegetables.
Good lunch you can get from 70 kuna (9 Euro) to 130 kuna (17 Euro)

Beer and whine is not expensive especially if you drink domestic whines and beers.
Beers go from 8 kuna (1,1 Euro) to 15 kuna (1,9 Euro).
Liter of wine cost from 40 kuna (5,2 Euro) to 76 kuna (10 Euro) of course if you take wine in bottles prices go higher.

DIVING IN PRIMOSTEN

Primosten as well as Rogoznica has has very rich undersea flora and fauna. Big drop offs full of corals and schools of fish make an impressive ambient in over 40m visibility. Also many different wrecks, swim thoughts and caves give varieties of possibilities you might want to try.
